International Workshop XXXI on Gross Properties of Nuclei and Nuclear Excitations

First Circular, July 2002

As a continuation of the Hirschegg discussion meetings we announce Workshop XXXI to be held from January 12 to 18, 2003 at the Waldemar-Petersen-Haus in Hirschegg.

We intend to gather experimentalists and theorists interested in the Nuclear Structure and Dynamics at the Limits. Recent progress in the following fields will be discussed:

M. Lewitowicz (GANIL), G. Münzenberg (GSI), W. Nazarewicz (Univ.Tennessee/Univ. Warsaw), G. Savard (Argonne)  and H. Schatz (MSU) have agreed to advise us in setting up the program which will be composed of invited talks and contributions by the participants.

The second circular is scheduled for the middle of September  and will contain additional details, including the list of invited speakers and the application and registration form via the World Wide Web. The deadline for applications and contributions will be October 31, 2002.

We hope that the informal character of the meeting and the relaxed atmosphere at the Waldemar-Petersen-Haus (now with modern new lecture room) will stimulate intensive and fruitful discussions.
