Hirschegg 2005:

Probing QCD with High Energy Nuclear Collisions

International Workshop XXXIII on Gross Properties of Nuclei and Nuclear Excitations
Hirschegg, Kleinwalsertal, Austria, January 16 - 22, 2005

First Circular, July 2004

As a continuation of the Hirschegg discussion meetings we announce Workshop XXXIII to be held from January 16 to 22, 2005, at the Waldemar-Petersen-Haus in Hirschegg.

We intend to join experimentalists and theorists together who are interested in investigating the properties of QCD at high temperaturs and densities from high energy nuclear collisions.
Recent developments in the following fields will be discussed:

T. Peitzmann (Utrecht), R. Rapp (College Station), K. Rajagopal (Boston), and E. Shuryak (Stony Brook) have agreed to give advice in organizing the program which will consist of invited talks and contributions by the participants.

The second circular is scheduled to be sent at the beginning of September and will contain additional details, including the list of invited speakers, and the application and registration form via the World Wide Web. The deadline for applications and contributions will be October 31, 2004.

We hope that the informal atmosphere of the meeting and the pleasant surroundings at the Waldemar-Petersen-Haus will stimulate intensive and productive discussions.

The organizers:
P. Braun-Munzinger (GSI & TU Darmstadt), B. Friman (GSI), J. Knoll (GSI), and
J. Wambach (TU Darmstadt & GSI, coordinator)
