Hirschegg 2006:
Astrophysics and Nuclear Structure
International Workshop XXXIV on Gross Properties of Nuclei
and Nuclear Excitations
Hirschegg, Kleinwalsertal, Austria, January 15 - 21, 2006

Organizers: H. Feldmeier, K. Langanke (coordinator), J. Wambach
Secretary: H. Rinnert (GSI), phone:
+49 6159 71 2746; fax: +49 6159 71 2990
E-mail: H.Rinnert@gsi.de
Advisors:
- H. Grawe (GSI)
- K.L. Kratz (Mainz)
- F. Thielemann (Basel)
- M. Wiescher (Notre Dame)

Scope of the Meeting:
The aim is to gather experimentalists and theorists investigating
nuclear physics problems relevant for astrophysics with their
astrophysics colleagues. The number of participants is limited to
70. Sessions will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and from
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The program will consist of invited talks and
selected contributions.
Recent developments in the following fields will be discussed:
- Structure and evolution of stars (key reactions, solar
neutrinos, s-process, solar models, ...)
- Super novae (electron capture on nuclei, neutrino reactions
with nuclei, neutrino transport, explosive nuclear synthesis, super
novae models and eqaution of state, gamma-ray bursts, ...)
- nuclear structure at the limits and r- process (r-process
models, new data for masses and half-lifes, global nuclear physics
models, ...)
- Explosive processes in double star systems (key reactions and
models for explosive hydrogen burning and rp-process, novae, X-ray
bursters, super bursters, ...)

Application is now closed
