Pion production compared to experimental data by the FOPI collaboration. See SMASH paper (Sections IV) for details. Potentials, Fermi motion, Pauli blocking and test particles are employed in the SMASH simulation. Note: The transition region from resonances to strings was modified between SMASH-1.6 (√sNN = 4 - 5 GeV) and SMASH-1.7 (√sNN = 3.5 - 4.5 GeV).
