Fields of Interest

Effective Nuclear Interactions

Realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions that fit the phase-shifts and reproduce the deuteron properties feature a strong short-ranged repulsive core and a strong tensor force. These properties of the nuclear force induce strong short-ranged correlations in the nuclear many-body state. We treat these short-ranged correlations explicitly by means of Unitary Correlation Operator. This correlated nuclear interaction can be used as an effective interaction in nuclear many-body calculations.

Nuclear Structure

In the Fermionic Molecular Dynamics model the nuclear many-body state is a Slater determinant build of gaussian wave-packets in phase-space. This allows us to describe spherically symmetric, intrinsically deformed and nuclei with cluster structure in a consistent way.

Computing

I have a strong interest in computing and play as a sysadmin with the Linux cluster of the GSI theory group.
